All I want to know from the “GUN CONTROL NOW” crowd is this: what would’ve prevented this?
Making it so no one could purchase an AR-15? Why does anyone need those? At all? Literally at all. If he had a handgun guess what, maybe 5 dead. A tragedy yes but less then 17. No, he had a gun that had the ability to shoot quickly and still have many bullets left. So let’s say you don’t have easy access to an AR-15. So he goes and gets, let’s say, a shotgun and a handgun. He bursts in and in the few second he needs to reload someone could’ve jumped him. But no, your precious assault rifle is so needed that you are valuing a gun over teens lives. The teens THERE think differently then you. The teens THERE that saw people die want change. Why are you arguing against those people who went through trauma like that? Why don’t you care?
The first thing you did was worry about “liberals wanting to take my guns away” again. You didn’t try to see if there was any way you could help. You didn’t listen to the voices of the people who were witness to that. You just wanted to cradle your guns. I ask why do you value this gun more then you value children’s lives?
Making it so no one could purchase an AR-15?
Okay so you’re cool with me owning my M&P-15
Or the HKMR556A1
Hell we even have the Xena 15 which is produced only 15 miles away from me.
Point being, none of these are AR-15s, and do you know why? Because none of these are made by Armalite, which is what the AR stands for.
Why does anyone need those?
Oh I dunno maybe for:
- Personal protection
If he had a handgun guess what, maybe 5 dead.
It’s funny because you even admit in your own argument that it wouldn’t be prevented if the shooter didn’t have a rifle.
No, he had a gun that had the ability to shoot quickly and still have many bullets left.
Do you understand how firearms work?
He bursts in and in the few second he needs to reload someone could’ve jumped him.
Reloading a handgun is arguably quicker than reloading a rifle.
But no, your precious assault rifle
Pump the breaks there, the AR-15 isn’t an assault rifle, never was. That’s just a political term made up by gun control advocates used by gun control proponents to feel like they have a bad guy.
The teens THERE think differently [than] you. The teens THERE that saw people die want change.
What about the ones like me who dealt with a mass shooting but want to repeal as many gun control laws as possible? Mine was ten years ago on Valentine’s’s day, yet you don’t see me calling for more gun control, not do I speak for anyone else who has dealt with that horrific experience, yet you think you have the audacity to speak for those people? How fucking arrogant of you.
Why are you arguing against those people who went through trauma like that?
Maybe because I’ve experienced something very similar to that, and I know all too well from a personal experience what happens when we force those to be disarmed.
The first thing you did was worry about “liberals wanting to take my guns away” again.
No I gathered on campus at 3:06 and mourned with those who were also affected by it, I had my own cross to bear that that.
You didn’t listen to the voices of the people who were witness to that
You know what the funniest part about your failed attempt to appeal to emotions? You can’t guilt trip me because 10 years ago you didn’t know about NIU, you didn’t care about us or who we lost. To this day you still don’t care, yet you want to sit there and act like you’re so benevolent and you ”care?” Sorry, no you don’t get to act like the victim here, especially when you make such poor arguments and try to appeal to emotions.
